However the Colorados Party remained in power even after the Strossner regime fell, and with a political crisis involving Oviedo lead to discontent with the central government. The Chore Band began conducting attacks against Government forces and Ranch villas. The group would go on to become the Paraguayan People’s Army and trigger the Communist Insurgency in Paraguay.
