September 10, Spain! Heavy downpour with Hailstorm in Corella of Navarre! The streets became lakes!

This morning’s storms left an impressive downpour of hail in Sintruenigo, Fitero and Corella. In some of these towns such as Sintruenigo and Fitero, which celebrate the feasts of their patron saints, they had to use excavators to clear the accumulated hail. Heavy rains last morning caused heavy hail in Ribera, especially in towns like Corella, Fitero and Sintruenigo, the latter two celebrating the feast of their patron saint these days. In some of these towns they had to use excavators to clear the hail that had accumulated in the streets. Meanwhile, in Pamplona, the storms were a light show in the sky with an impressive thunderstorm, although no notable incidents or problems like those experienced last week seem to have been reported. Intense rains recorded this morning led to random incidents in towns along the Ribera River such as Fitero , Corella and Sintruenigo . Images and videos circulating on social networks show streets that appear snow-covered and more typical of the cold weather after the hailstorm. Last night a strong storm flooded the streets of Artahona . It is worth recalling that the State Meteorological Agency in Navarre ( Aemet ) last Saturday activated a yellow warning of storms in the center and Ribera . Navarra, especially Pamplona and the region, Tierra Estella and the Pyrenees, a week ago experienced a historic episode of rain , which left record levels at several meteorological stations such as Pamplona, where 146.9 liters per m2 accumulated in less than 24 hours. Tierra Estella and the Pyrenees also recorded large amounts of water exceeding (or close to) 100 liters/m2.
