18 Karat Gold - All-Bumm 1973 (Germany, Krautrock/Glam Rock) Full Album

18 Karat Gold was a short-lived spin-off from Amon Duul II. Their work is of undoubted musical interest. Lothar Meid was with Amon Duul II from 1971 to 1974, although he left and returned to the group several times. At the same time, he was simultaneously busy with other projects, such as “18 Karat Gold”, “Doldinger’s Passport” and “Utopia”. Half-American and half-German Klaus Ebert was just 18 years old when 18 Karat Gold recorded their only album. From 1976 to 1979 he was a member of Amon Duul II in their last phase, when they changed their musical focus to pop rock. Keith Forsey and Jörg Evers made guest appearances on several Amon Duul II albums (and sometimes replaced the so-called regular members of the lineup during live performances). Forsey, a British session drummer living in Germany at the time, also made an excellent album with Paul Vincent as the duo “Hallelujah” in 1971. Olaf Kübler, the famous producer of “Amon Duul II” and jazz saxophonist, did not add any exciting ideas when recording this album. Since the album was a commercial failure, the group soon disbanded.
