• This Dance is Musically Cued • Couples can move freely around the room at different rates. • With many couples dancing, a circle within a circle can be done. • Couples may join or leave the dance at any time. • Circle of couples proceeds counter-clockwise. • Handhold: promenade style, with gentleman’s hands at midriff level palms up and lady’s hands palm down on top of gentleman’s hands. His R arm is above her L arm. Also know as a skater’s hold. • Bodies are side by side, facing forward around the line of direction. • All footwork follows a 16-count Schottische rhythm, with gentlemen and ladies on the same foot. There is a three count pickup, then 32 counts of intro, then the dance starts, in 4/4 time. Part 1 Beginning with the R foot, using 8 counts. 1) step diagonal forward to the R; 2) place the L foot behind the R 3) step diagonal forward to the R; 4), and hop the R foot while the L foot swings forward 5) step diagonal forward to the L; 6) place the R foot behind the L 7) step diagonal forward
