Protesters crowd central London as Israeli-Palestinian violence heightens

A large group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets of the British capital on Tuesday as violence between Israel and Hamas escalates. Protesters waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans in central London while police blocked off a smaller group of pro-Israeli demonstrators to the side of the road. Hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group that runs Gaza escalated on Tuesday as each side attacked the other with aerial bombardments that recalled their last major conflict in 2014.
