#VisitRussia ? Volgograd, formerly known as Stalingrad, is a major city located in southwestern Russia, on the western bank of the Volga River. It was the site of the Battle of Stalingrad during World War II, which is commemorated by a monumental statue called The Motherland Calls. ️ Volgograd is one of the largest tourist attractions in Russia. Today, thousands of visitors come to the city to explore its historical sites and admire the magnificent monuments dedicated to the victims of war.  The main city landmarks include the Motherland Calls statue, Mamayev Kurgan, the Panorama Museum, the State Historical and Memorial Preserve, the Eternal Flame, the Museum “Pamyat,“ the Volgograd Planetarium, and others.
