Meet The World’s Largest The Zubr class, Soviet designation Project 1232.2, (NATO reporting name “Pomornik“) is a class of Soviet-designed air-cushioned landing craft (LCAC). The name “Żubr“ is Polish for the European bison. Almaz Shipbuilding in St Petersburg in Russia is the manufacturer of the Zubr Class air cushion landing craft. The Russian Navy has had three Almaz-built Zubr Class ships in service since 1988.
