Construction #timelapse of Yusufeli Dam, Artvin, Türkiye #shorts

The Yusufeli Dam is a concrete arch dam on the Çoruh River in the eastern Black Sea region of Turkey. It is the second-highest dam in Turkey and the fifth-highest double curvature concrete arch dam in the world. The dam is part of the Çoruh River Development Plan, which aims to build 13 dams on the Çoruh River. The Yusufeli Dam is expected to generate 540 megawatts of electricity and will create a reservoir with a capacity of billion cubic meters. The dam’s construction began in 2013 and was completed in 2022. The dam’s reservoir has submerged the town of Yusufeli, which was relocated to a new townsite upstream of the dam. The Yusufeli Dam has been controversial due to its environmental impact, including the displacement of people and the loss of biodiversity.
