Duesenberg Guitars presents: “The Making of a Dream Guitar” A never-before-seen tour through our very own production process. Duesenberg was founded in 1986 by Dieter Gölsdorf, who had gathered extensive experience in guitar hardware design in the decades prior. He created Duesenberg on the idea of outstanding tone, roadworthy reliability and unique design, and the company has become very successful in following this vision ever since. The tour begins in Croatia, where our Duesenberg preproduction facility resides in the charming 17th century city of Varazdin. It is here where we begin the journey that follows our instruments through the long and detailed manufacturing process with our exceptional Duesenberg production team. Woodwork is still mainly done by hand with the support of our custom-built CNC machines. This ensures the consistent quality throughout the build process. The unique and high-quality Duesenberg finishes are the testimony of our exceptional paint and polishing departments, where each instrument is cared for by hand in maintaining the standards of perfection. The instrument is then shipped off to the Duesenberg Headquarters in Hannover, Germany, where our skilled team of craftsmen is tasked with routing the guitar blank for electronics and pickup cavities, as well as levelling the frets with the help of the company owned Plek machine. Our expert team of master luthiers then begins the process of hand assembling the instruments.
