American Cichlid Species - The Red Hump Geo. “Geophagus Steindachneri“

A very charismatic Geophagus species. I have found them to be more aggressive then its close cousins, especially during breeding. Males become quite colourful and are easily distinguishable from the females, especially once they start developing the trademark red hump. The Red Hump is a moothbrooding cichlid and both parents take turns turns holding the eggs.
