The Reds started much the stronger with a mostly familiar line-up, but it was to be Hereford’s day as Nathan Hughes scored the first home goal for the newly reformed club. With 90 years of history and 90 minutes to claim victory Hughes waited until the second half, now facing a much changed United, to seal his name into the books with a close-range tap-in. That didn’t matter to many of the 4,000 plus crowd,who went home celebrating a good day out between two supporter-owned teams.
