The Oldest Race In The World (1931)

Full title reads: “Newmarket. The Oldest Race in the World - run yearly since 1665, the only one in which women are allowed to ride, won by 57-year old [sic] Mr F Simpson for the 17th time!“ Newmarket, Suffolk. Pan across crowd of people gathered at race course to show row of book makers. They are calling out odds and taking bets. Pan along row of women jockeys before race. Some of the women walk past the bookies on their way to their mounts. Shots of riders mounting their horses in the parade ring. There is a male rider as well as the women. The race starts and the horses speed off around the course. Jerky shots as they come towards the finish. Shots of the winning horse and its rider - Mr Frank Simpson - as they are led into the winner’s enclosure. MS of Mr Simpson shaking hands with a female jockey.
