Asmongold has become the latest Twitch streamer to talk about quitting or stepping away over the burnout and increased toxicity on Twitch.
For many, Asmongold is the face of MMO’s on Twitch, with his World of Warcraft, and now Final Fantasy 14 streams drawing huge numbers of viewers. When Asmongold left World of Warcraft for Final Fantasy 14, along with his fellow MMO streamers in OTK, the game became so popular it actually sold out of digital copies for several days. So when Asmongold said he was seriously debating quitting Twitch, it got a lot of viewers attention.
Asmongold cited the increased toxicity on Twitch and in his own Twitch chat, along with burnout, and the constant fear of having what he says clipped and used out of context as major reasons for possibly quitting.
