Tiangong-2: The docking system for China’s second space lab

Behind the scenes of the docking system for China’s Tiangong-2 space lab. Tiangong-2 will launch in 2016 and soon after dock in orbit with the similarly-equipped crewed Shenzhou-11 spacecraft and Tianzhou-1 cargo ship. The space lab is designed to test regenerative life support system and upgraded technology ahead of the launch of the core module of the future Chinese space station in 2018.
