Korsnäströjan

The Korsnäströja is a special sweater that was manufactured and used in Korsnäs during the latter part of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, has experienced a real renaissance in the last 15 years. It is a unique sweater, above all because it features both crocheted and knitted borders in neighboring colors. This does not occur in any other known sweater. Originally, the shirt was mostly used by men as a party and fine shirt. The shirt was made in the farms under the direction of skilled craftsmen, who were women. The knitting parts of the sweater were often knitted by three women at the same time.
