This 1970 awareness film “A Child’s Garden of Pollution“ is narrated by Bill Bixby and follows him and his “son“ (actor Brandon Cruz who played Bixby’s son on the TV show “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father“) as they examine different environmental issues. These include agricultural runoff, air pollution, water pollution, overcrowding, and animals going extinct. There are many shots of pollution and smog generated by cars and factories. The film features short narrated elements by scientists who are experts on pollution and the environment. The song “Daddy, what if…?” sung by Bixby and Cruz encapsulates the theme for the film, focusing on creating a better future for children.
