Dixie Ann Barnes - Whispering Wind (1962)

Dixie played Cookie Bumstead on the 1957 “Blondie“ TV series. She had bit roles in other shows of the time such as “Leave It To Beaver“ and “My Three Sons“. During April in the year she recorded this song, she was crowned “Princess of Hollywood“ by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. However, she had a very difficult childhood with abusive parents and a rough life, and part of her sad story is told by her friend Paul Petersen (the former star of “The Donna Reed Show“) on this link: The picture I used for this video is of Dixie. Did not chart in Billboard, but released as a single in April 1962. Dixie is credited as “Dixie Anne Barnes“ on the record label. Written by Tony Casanova. B-side is “Teen Years“.
