Before and after a molt - 10 year old big Grammostola Pulchra Tarantula
My big female Grammostola pulchra finally molts, almost FOUR years after its last molt (November 2009 - July 2013), it’s a big thing for both of us. At the beginning you can see her several months before the molt, note the damaged leg (00:20). Two weeks before the molt her abdomen (opisthosoma) becomes dark (00:36), which is the most certain indicator that a molt is near, laziness and food refusal are other factors that are indicating a forthcoming molt.
