City of Kumamoto, Kyushu Japan / 熊本

Still Travelling episode 3: Kumamoto. The second stop of my Kyushu journey is the city of Kumamoto. Located in the centre of Kyushu, Kumamoto is well known for its historic heritage, natural land/waterscape and of course, it’s cute mascot “Kumamon”. The itinerary for this trip includes Kumamoto Station, Suizenji Jojuen Garden, Josaien, Shimotori Shopping Arcade and Kumamoto Castle. Note: The Kumamoto Castle, along with the city, was severely damaged by the devastating earthquake back in 2016. It is sad to see the castle in this state but the city is working hard to restore the Castle back to its former glory.
