“When Did We Take Back Control Of Our Borders?” | Julia Hartley-Brewer Grills Immigration Minister

Immigration rules that govern the hiring of foreign workers to plug gaps in the UK labour market should be abolished, according to a Government-commissioned report. In a major review, the independent Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) said the shortage occupation list (SOL), which is used to allocate work visas, could lead to exploitation and a net cost to taxpayers. Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick tells TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer that “net migration is far too high.” Robert: “We have done the big reform, which was leaving the EU and taking back control of our borders.” Julia: “You think we’ve taken back control of our borders? When did that happen?” #talktv #talkradio #immigration #migration #migrants
