To be honest, Für Elise is pretty dark already, but I wanted to bring out how well it works as a scary and creepy melody. that’s why I made this dark and creepy cover of this famous tune. Using a custom VST of a music box made with recordings from a music box I own (incidentally playing Für Elise as well). One of the great things about Beethoven is that most of his melodies are very versatile. The main melody in Für Elise can be used for a lot of purposes, and doesn’t sound nearly as dark in the original version, despite the chromaticism going on. There finally is that signature “explosion“ in the middle with the powerful chords making this piece an excellent sketchbook with a wide variety of applications.
