Accelerando finale (28:56) John Corigliano () is one of the most famous and reputed American composers of today, composing in many genres and having won Pultizer prizes and Academy awards for music contributions. In 1999 he composed the awarded music for the laureate film The Red Violin, a story about a prized and mysterious red violin that had belonged to many people across history, and “saw” different and intense periods of it. In 2003 Corigliano completed a concerto gathering elements from here and there in the original score, including the powerful initial Chaconne, already an established concertante piece.
