NOTE: Egon KAISER (b. 1901 in Berlin, d. 1982 in Berlin) German bandleader and arranger. He received a solid musical education in Berlin Conservatory, after which he was engaged by the State Opera orchestra (1925-26) and in1926-29 by Berliner Philharmonikern (as a violinist). This was, however, end of his career in classical music performing. In 1929 he departured from the symphony world and established his own dance band. With much applaud he performed in best night clubs and restaurants of Berlin (e.g. Moka-Efti, Atlantis). His contract with Deutsche Grammophon and popularity of his records opened for him avenue to front cover publicity and film. In later years he also recorded for Imperial, Tempo, Tri-Ergon. On labels he sometimes used pseudonyms (Mario Elki, Harry Hiller). In 1933, when the nazis took power, he remained active and popular through 1930s (until the end of 1960s).
