As great lovers of the most primitive Power-Pop, we must confess that what hooked us to The Wind-Ups from the very first moment, was to find in 2020s a band capable of covering those sounds lacks that we missed so much. It’s really incredible the ability of this project to be so melodic while being so fuzzy punk, with vocals that remind us of the Spits, and fucking noisy guitars that manage to make songs wonderful enough to pay tribute to one of the heroes of our life, Jonathan Richman, to whom this Chico, CA, based lineup dedicates this wonderful EP, which is the first advance of a new album coming this Fall, and on which Richman himself plays lead guitar on the track “Little Boy Blue“, which will be available in full on August 4th via Blue Arrow Records, which is releasing one of the most beautiful “harshy“ 7“s of the year.
