S. Korea reports 1,817 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday; 40th day above 1000 mark

신규확진 1천817명, 주말 최다-40일째 네자릿수…연휴 추가확산 우려 South Korea today reported another 1-thousand-817 new cases of COVID-19, the most ever reported on a Sunday. It’s a slight drop from the past few days... likely due to fewer tests being done on weekends. Cases outside of the greater Seoul area continue to account for around 40 percent of them. Though it’s a three-day weekend in Korea, the authorities have urged people not to travel and to stay home... to stop the virus from spreading. For those who do choose to travel, free coronavirus tests are available at highway rest stops on the way into the capital region. The authorities are also warning of stern action against any mass rallies for Liberation Day that violate the social distancing rules. #COVID19 #SouthKorea #Travel 📣 Arirang News(Facebook) : 📣 Arirang News(Twitter) : 📣 News Center(YouTube) : 2021-08-15 12:00 (KST)
