Germany Recession Fears: Outlook Is Bleak, Ifo Warns
Germany’s IFO business confidence index fell more than economists expected in September. Ifo Institute President Clemens Fuest tells Bloomberg that the key weakness in the EU’s largest economy remains in manufacturing and its order book. “In any case, the German economy will stagnate,” he said, not ruling out a recession by the end of the year. Fuest spoke to Tom Mackenzie on Bloomberg Television.
