Russia Not Concerned By China’s Nuclear Arsenal As Pentagon Confirms PLA’S New Guided Missile Subs

China has launched its first nuclear-powered guided missile submarines, according to the Pentagon’s latest report. The Pentagon report marks the first confirmation that modified submarines seen in Chinese shipyards are Type 093B guided missile submarines. Satellite images from May 2022 showed a new or upgraded class of submarine at Huludao shipyard in northeast China. It comes amid an intensifying submarine arms race as China builds a new generation of nuclear-armed boats as part of its deterrent force. The submarines give China’s military land and sea attack options- once seen the sole province of US and Russian vessels. The Pentagon says SSGNs will give the PLA navy “the ability to conduct long-range precision strikes against land targets.” The Pentagon report added that SSGNs will enhance “China’s power projection capability“. #china #usa #submarine #chinanews #beijing n18oc_world n18oc_crux 0:00 INTRODUCTION 1:31 SSGNs TO ENHANCE PLA’S “POWER PROJECTION CAPABILITY” 3:38 RUSSIA SAYS CHINA’S GROWING ARSENAL CAUSES “NO CONCERN” CRUX is your daily video news guide to the big events that are shaping our world.
