Preamp Shootout on Acoustic Guitar - Neve 1073, API 512c, Sytek MPX-4A, Universal Audio Solo 610

This video is of a Microphone Preamp shootout recorded at Island Studios, tested on an acoustic guitar and using a Beyerdynamic MC930 small diaphragm condenser microphone. The test is not to display a perfect microphone position, but rather to display the differences which can be achieved using different preamps. I’ve had a lot of people ask me about the importance of preamps and how crucial they are to a good recording. I believe preamps are every bit as important as microphone, if not more important. A
