First ever underwater video of a Blue Whale nursing its calf

First ever recording of a blue whale mother nursing her calf underwater. Recordings of whales nursing are incredibly rare, and blue whales have only been documented nursing from aerial drones. On our 2022 Timor Leste expedition our group was lucky to witness the nursing of a pigmy blue whale calf by her mother. These babies drink up to 200 liters of this 30-50% fat content milk, helping them to grow by almost 100 kg per day!
