Rescued baby flying-fox’s story: this is Pussy’s Bow

I rescued Pussy’s Bow about 9 weeks ago when she was noticed clinging to her dead mother on powerlines. The energy company got her down and she was brought into care. She was named Pussy’s Bow because there is a saying in Australia that if you’re completely fed up with something, you’re up to Pussy’s Bow. It can mean you’re stuffed full of food up to your neck, or totally fed up with the situation, and Pussy’s Bow was completely fed up with the situation in which she found herself, and wasn’t afraid to let me know. (A Pussy’s Bow is the neck tie bow on a blouse). Pussy’s Bow was upset on the first night and cried and cried, so I fed her and brought her to bed with me, so both of us could get some sleep. Provided she could hear my heartbeat and breathing, and was warm and swaddled, she slept. In the morning she had settled and wasn’t so upset with life.
