150 Paintings of French artist Adolphe William Bouguereau (1825-1905)

Adolphe-William Bouguereau was born in the French town of La Rochelle in 1825 to an average family of olive and wine merchants. The youngster was able to study because of a relative, a priest named Uncle Eugene. The brilliance of the future brilliant artist was early recognised in high school. William pursued his studies at the Royal School of Art in Bordeaux. He worked as an accountant for a local vineyard and created tags and labels for the grocer to help pay for his schooling.
