Styrofoam into Fiberglass Chair - Time Lapse

School Project at the School of Architecture in Lund, Sweden, October 2012. Entitled the Factory Project for 2nd year students. One of the tasks was to build a sitting device, as seen in this time lapse. The chair is handmade out of normal styrofoam as core, then covered with polyester and fiberglass to give strength and finally spray painted with red top coat for protection and aesthetics. This is the same technique used to build boat hulls and surfboards. The top coat almost adds a red leather look. Total time from idea to final sitting device was 2 weeks.
