Shine - Sandra Bouza - (Live at COHO Studio)

Have you ever felt the frustration of knowing you have so much to offer but you are not being heard? ’Shine’ is from my new album ’A Sound In The Dark’ available now at and everywhere you listen to music. This is one of the older songs on the album. I wrote this about ten years ago living in Vancouver. It encapsulates the frustration of knowing that you are not being heard and that you have so much to offer and to contribute, but you are being denied a voice. For me, in my own story, there is also a responsibility that I have to take in owning my part in not speaking up. In falling into a silent role within a patriarchy. This is where the song fits for me, but really it is for anyone who feels like they are not being heard, and a reminder to not be afraid to take up space. Listen. Like.
