Surfing Desert Point Without A Leash? - Surfing Lombok, 10th & 11th October 2020

Desert Point is known for its long barrels, super shallow reef, and generally being an intense heavy wave. So when we noticed a surfer heading out without a leash, it didn’t seem like the best idea. Sure enough, he lost his board multiple times and had to swim/walk in to retrieve it. He did get quite a few barrels though, so he must be doing something right! We have been experiencing light onshore winds most mornings here, which shut down the barrels and make things very tricky. The wind has been switching in the afternoons though, and most evenings have been nice and clean. A chunky swell hit yesterday, and there were some some amazing barrels and big wipeouts going down - expect an edit from us soon!
