Realistic Brush Stroke Transitions | After Effects Tutorial
In this After Effects Tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a realistic paint brush transition.

We use a vectorised brush stroke, which we duplicate and clean up to use as a mask for the reveal of the brush stroke. Instead of just blending it in or using a simple linear transition we get a nice and detailed reveal.
We animate the reveal and duplicate the solids twice and place them on the screen.
Next we add some footage and use the brush stroke to reveal the second footage file.
As we left some paint on the screen we need to add another solid to the matte and clean that up, using three masks that follow the paint brush strokes.
To add some more detail and texture we add the turbulent displace effect and the tritone effect.
