Elton John - Live in Sydney (March 25, 1984)

This is the television broadcast of Elton’s 37th birthday concert in Sydney at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, which would be the sight of his legendary concert with the MSO in 1986. Because of required commercial breaks the broadcast is lacking two small sections unfortunately due to the way it was shown live on television as it was happening. So the first bits of “Don’t Let the Sun...“ and “Philadelphia Freedom“ are missing from the video. However, the audio exists from an alternate source, so at the very least the audio has been patched in so you can hear all of the set, and see most of it. Elton was touring for “Too Low For Zero“ at the time, and the setlist is highly reminiscent of the set we’d see at the infamous Wembley show following the release of “Breaking Hearts“ later that year.
