Rainbow - Live in Kyoto, Japan 12/10/1976

Happy 40th Anniversary Rainbow fans! I have already uploaded this concert before. This is Rainbow performing live at the Kyoto-Kaikan Daiichi Hall in Kyoto, Japan on Friday December 10th, 1976 Around 6:30pm. This Mr. Peach recording comes from a bootleg entitled “Apache, Playing the Shadows.“ At this show, the band starts Stargazer in an unusual fashion as it seems to be an instrumental, but Ronnie came in late to start singing the introduction to the song. After Stargazer, Rainbow covers a soft and short jam of Johnny Cash’s “I Walk the Line“. Afterwards, they also cover “Apache“, which was originally done by the Shadows. Rainbow performs “A Light in the Black“ as the encore instead of “Do You Close Your Eyes.“ Tony Carey performs Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (Dorian), BWV 538“ before Ritchie returns for a small shredding solo as they break into “A Light in the Black“.
