I know 100% that I haven’t included every band, I just wanted to include a good majority of the prominent bands that used DJs during their run. Also because of all the copyrighted music, this video is blocked in Russia. Sorry in advance to all the Russia bros out there :( That being said I wanted to put some minor points in here as I know that some people may question certain things about the video / selection process, so I thought I’d answer some general things in advance. Q) Why only “scratches“? A) I’m aware that there’s more to being a DJ than just being a turntablist, even in Nu Metal. The obvious omission in this video being Frank Delgado (Deftones). The reason I focused only on scratches is because they are some of the most prominent / commonly associated aspects of DJing linked to Nu Metal, also because it was just fun and a nice theme to build around. Q) Where is “x“ person? / I can’t believe you didn’t include “x“ band A) The answer to these is usually one of two things: 1. I didn’t know the band existed at the time. 2. I didn’t think they really fit the criteria of having any prominent scratching sections in any songs or they weren’t Nu Metal enough to me. I did my best to try and find as many bands as I could with prominent DJ’s but I will concede that I almost certainly missed a handful somewhere. Q) Hey you got this persons name wrong / That person isn’t in that band / That person didn’t play on that record A) I’ll be honest, this part was the most annoying to try and figure out. Some of these bands have really sparse amounts of recorded info for who recorded what, what their names are, what they look like etc. I made a valiant effort to try and get everything credited correctly but I almost expect something to be wrong somewhere - If there is then let me know and I’ll update the description here.
