J S Bach “Allegro“ BWV 998 transcribed and performed by Marco Tamayo
The Prelude, Fugue, and Allegro BWV 998 by Johann Sebastian Bach is the only work in his catalog that includes an Allegro alongside the typical two movements (Prelude and Fugue). This Allegro is perhaps one of the most, if not the most, demanding Allegros I have encountered by the composer. The interaction of the voices, their articulation, and the counterpoint create a three-dimensional musical experience that I find essential to highlight.
It took me considerable time and effort to research how to achieve a fluent balance between the tempo, articulation, and rhythmic impulses, along with the other challenges this work presents.
While there is still room for further exploration, I am quite satisfied with the result achieved so far. I believe it’s worth sharing with all of you. This is a preliminary recording, done in one take with multiple camera angles. Enjoy the listening experience!
