On September 3, 2025, a memorial ceremony was held in the city of Basel at the common grave of Soviet soldiers at the Swiss cemetery “Hörnli“ to commemorate the Day of Military Glory of Russia - the day of Victory over militarist Japan and the end of World War II. Flowers were laid at the burial site of Soviet soldiers by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Russia in Switzerland Georgy Starikovich and the Ambassador of Belarus H.E. Aliaksandr Ganevich, the Consul General of Russia in Geneva Igor Popov, the military attaché Valery Golubkin and Russian diplomats, including from Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Office in Geneva.
