Although not yet a fully-fledged artist, he was soon recording many demos of his own songs (such as ’If You Ever Were To Leave Me’, ’Let’s Get Back’ and ’Run Away’), as well as more familiar titles which were all re-recorded and released a considerable time later. (’You Move Me’, ’Slipping Away’ and ’The Love Has Gone’ ended up on his first album – ’I’ll Be Fine’ and ’I’ll Never Set You Free’ as b-sides – and later still after leaving PWL, ’Is This Really Love’, ’Behind The Smile’ and ’The Bottom Line’ were on 1991’s ’Free’ album).
