Elijah Wood and Frank Khalfoun talk about “Maniac“

Elijah Wood and Frank Khalfoun talk about their remake of the 1980 slasher film “Maniac“. When asked what he wanted to bring to Maniac’s dark character, Frank Zito, Wood said, “It was important to me that the character come to life in a believable way. I guess for me the biggest challenge was just to not fall into cliché. I think when it comes to a serial killer; a villain in a film, it’s sort of easy to fall into familiar areas or tropes in the creation of that character.“
