If psychedelic therapy works, HOW can we know it?

Can psychiatry objectively tell us if psychedelic therapy works? Is the pharmacologist’s double-blind method The Truth Teller? Will neuroimaging save us from subjectivity and reveal the real stuff? What if these are b(i)ased on myopic philosophical stances, and if a refreshing look at scientific realism can adjust our gaze, revealing the full spectrum of visionary medicines? In this November 5th, 2022 lecture at MGH’s Psychiatry Academy in Boston, USA, Eduardo Schenberg, PhD, President of Instituto Phaneros in Brazil, made some serious inquiry into evidence-based medicine, epistemology and philosophy of science regarding psychedelic research.
