New Haven Police Officer Catches Shoplifter After Stealing Clothes From Walmart

** (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) ** New Haven, Connecticut — On Sunday, April 11, 2021, New Haven Police arrested 50-year-old Robert Banks, during a larceny investigation at Walmart, 315 Foxon Boulevard (Route 80). Officer Christian Carfora saw on surveillance video Banks stealing clothing items valued at $. As Banks was exiting the store, Officer Carfora told him to stop due to the suspicious activity. Banks ran towards his car and entered the front seat, but was apprehended by the officer. Banks admitted he had shoplifted underwear, socks and T-shirts from the store. He also admitted he was under the influence of drugs he had begun taking after a friend died. Banks spent a few hours in detention before being released on $2,500 bond.
