Russian warship ’destroyed’ in Crimean port, says Ukraine

Ukraine has claimed the destruction of a Russian warship in the Black Sea following a missile attack on a Crimean port. The Ukrainian air force said the Novocherkassk, a Russian landing ship, was struck by cruise missiles at on Tuesday. Video footage showed a fireball illuminating the night sky above Feodosia, a port of 69,000 people on Crimea’s southern coast. Britain has supplied Ukraine with Storm Shadow long-range missiles, which have previously been used to strike Crimean ports. Ukraine has repeatedly used western weapons to target Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.
