Air Rescue (1956)

Thorney Island, Hampshire. M/Ss as an RAF officer, Flight Lieutenant Harry Monks, on a survival test lands in a field by parachute; he gathers up the parachute and carries it and his kit bag to a suitable spot for camping. C/U as he sits on the bundled up parachute, starts to undo his survival kit bag and takes out the contents, starting with a rubber dingy. C/U panning right of other items in the bag, now laid out on a pink sheet or blanket on the ground; items include drinking water, concentrated foods, sea-water desalting equipment and a new item known as ’SARAH’ - a radio transmitter with self-erecting aerial and a 20 hour battery (’SARAH’ stands for Search and Rescue and Homing). M/S as we see the airman assembling this transmitter, speaking into a mouthpiece and listening to it. M/S and C/U of the airman selecting some wood for chopping. M/S and C/U of him opening his concentrated food rations; then emptying the food from tubes into silver tins. M/S as he lights a fire; C/U as he fixes some
