(Part 3/3) Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, Ambassador Gennady Gatilov’s interview with the Pax Press Agency: Christian Peschken: Does Russia have concrete steps to restore peaceful relations with Ukraine and its ties with the broader international community? Ambassador Gatilov: Since 2014, Russia always prioritized diplomatic solutions and made multiple attempts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis peacefully. Minsk I and II agreements were clear examples of our efforts to end the hostilities. Now we know for a fact that that the Kiev regime and its Western backers never intended to use the Minsk agreements in order to facilitate the resolution of the crisis. They were merely a smokescreen for the West to buy some time, arm Ukraine, and train its army for modern warfare. ️ Soon after the beginning of our special military operation, Russia demonstrated its readiness to engage in direct dialogue with Ukraine.
