The film is based on ancient Slavic myths and legends, and also inspired by a classic Ukrainian literature masterpiece “The Forest Song” by Lesya Ukrainka. It features a unique female character, Mavka – the Soul of the Forest and its Guardian. MAVKA. THE FOREST SONG is set in a magical world filled with original characters. The trailer offers a sneak peek into some of the events of the animated feature and its amazing locations and characters: beautiful Mavka, talented musician Lukas, his uncle Leo, Mavka’s friends Swampy the Kittyfrog and grumpy forest noisekeeper Hush, ancient Forest Guardian – Lesh, mysterious water Nymph Ondine, as well as the main villain – the insidious and greedy Kylina accompanied by her minions.
