Atom Racer (1955)

Wimbledon, London. M/S of four men gathered around a small red racing car. The fifth man coming into the frame carries a tyre. High angle C/U shot of the man as he tries to attach the tyre to the car. Two men carrying container with fuel are ready to pour it into a reservoir. High angle shot of petrol (presumably ) being poured into reservoir. M/S of the men doing final checks, commenting. Car is finally ready and a driver jumps in. The car’s designers Sydney Allard and Ronnie Greene (Wimbledon Speedway Controller) claim it is the world’s smallest racing car. Driver Cyril Brine - “Salty“, well known speedway ace, prepares to test the prototype but he has to be careful since it has no brakes. M/S of two men helping the driver, Mr. Brine, to start the car - it needs a little push. The car starts successfully. Panning L/S of the car circling the track.
