Paul Cézanne - His Still Lifes

This is the third of four presentations on Paul Cézanne. Cézanne, the great French post-impressionist painter, was born in Aix-en-Provence in 1839. His marvelous use of design and color united in his paintings to help form a bridge between the impressionist painters and the new growing art form called cubism. Cézanne went to Paris in 1861 where he met Impressionist Camille Pissarro, and the two became friends. Cézanne’s interest in simplifying forms to their natural essentials led to a number of fascina
